Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about Tenders, Spot Quotes, your existing forwarders, and how you compare freight quotes with the true total in view.

What is Rapido?

Rapido is freight quote comparison software for Australian importers and exporters who ship regularly. Request one RFQ across your existing forwarders and compare freight, origin and destination charges so you can see the true total before you decide.

Is Rapido a freight forwarder?

No. Rapido does not move cargo and does not replace your suppliers. It is the system businesses use to request and compare freight quotes across their existing forwarders.

Who is Rapido for?

Rapido is built for importers and exporters who ship regularly. If you are managing freight every month, structured RFQs and side-by-side comparisons save time and make pricing decisions clearer. If you only ship occasionally, it is probably not for you.

How does Rapido work?

You send one structured RFQ to multiple forwarders. They respond in a consistent format. You compare freight, origin and destination charges side by side, then decide with the true total in view.

What is the difference between a Tender and a Spot Quote?

A Tender is for a corridor or rate card, with validity dates and one or more lanes. A Spot Quote is for a specific shipment. Both use the same comparison idea: one request, comparable responses, true total in view.

Do my forwarders need a Rapido account?

Not to quote on an RFQ you sent them. You invite your existing suppliers; they can open that request through a secure Magic Link and submit rates. A full supplier account is only needed if they want the wider Rapido workspace or Marketplace access as a Verified supplier.

Do I have to leave my current suppliers?

No. Rapido is built around the forwarders you already use. You invite them to each RFQ. You can also open a request to Rapido Marketplace if you want Verified suppliers to quote as well.

What charges does Rapido compare?

Freight, origin and destination charges, in the same structure across suppliers. That is how you see the true total instead of comparing a freight line in isolation. Rapido helps organise responses for comparison; it does not invent a missing cost, and it flags charges that cannot be identified so you can confirm them.

Can quotes come in different currencies?

Yes. Suppliers can quote in their own currency. Original rates stay visible as the source data. Rapido can show mixed-currency offers in a comparison currency (including AUD) so you are ranking like with like. When a supplier provides their own rate of exchange (Supplier ROE), that overrides Rapido's comparison rate for that supplier's commercial view.

Does Rapido choose the winner?

No. You compare, then you award. Rapido does not pick a forwarder for you, does not automatically choose the cheapest quote, and does not move the cargo. Price is one factor alongside completeness, service and other commercial considerations you care about.

What is Rapido Marketplace?

If you turn on Open to Rapido Marketplace, Rapido Verified suppliers can find that RFQ and quote, on top of the suppliers you invited yourself. You stay in control of who is invited and who wins.

What is Rapido Lane?

Rapido Lane is an assistant inside Rapido for logged-in customers and suppliers. It can help draft an RFQ, summarise responses, and explain freight terms. It is not a standalone chatbot, and it can make mistakes, so you should check the work before you send or submit.

How do I get started?

Book a demo and we will walk through Rapido with your lanes and suppliers. There is no public self-serve signup for the full product; we set you up after that conversation.

Is Rapido only for Australian businesses?

Rapido is built for Australian importers and exporters who ship regularly. Your corridors can still be international. Occasional or one-off shippers are not the primary audience.
